New Galaxy S24 FE and Tab S10 Series Also Eligible for Seven Years of Updates
Starting with the Galaxy S24, Galaxy AI features expanded with the Z Fold 6, positively impacting sales. The latest Galaxy S24 FE and Tab S10 series also benefit from these features and are included among the models that will receive seven years of updates. With this move, Samsung’s new flagship devices will now receive Android updates and additional updates for seven years.
Google’s commitment to seven years of updates for Pixel phones and tablets has now been adopted by Samsung starting with the S24 series. This feature has significantly influenced market share and sales, allowing the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra to break sales records. Samsung also plans to extend the update promise for entry-level and mid-range devices, potentially offering six years of updates for the Galaxy A16 5G.
Although there has been no official announcement from the tech giant, it is claimed that all flagship devices introduced in the future will come with seven years of update support. Considering that all these devices are launching with Android 14, they are expected to receive all operating system updates, including Android 21. Additionally, these devices are noted to receive security updates until 2031.
